Shabbat shalom dear friends π May we have a peaceful and meaningful Shabbat πΒ May the words of our beloved Torah guide us π
Today it feels like a reflection of the current situation is on my mind. Make no mistake, it hurts. It’s not only the horrific murder of Jews and neglect of pain, it’s neglect of all the warning signs.
All the flowers, hugs, speeches – very nice, thank you. However, what action are you going to take tomorrow?! What are you going to do when the hate feast will close your city? Your university? Your school?
This is the question we all need to ask ourselves.
So let’s be honest with ourselves. We failed to protect our brothers and sisters. By voting for albo / wong / plibersek & traitors dreyfus / burns β¦.. by being quiet. By not addressing the problem.
So now we reel in pain. And no, don’t light the menora in memory of the victims hy”d. Light it in honouring Maccabees. Learn the whole story without whitewashing. Know the truth.
And please don’t forget the lesson of this week’s parsha – when people do wrong things, make sure that they’re actually doing tshuva before you embrace them.
Don’t be a token Jew. Be a proud Jew.
Let’s meet this Shabbat with love and true friends. Let’s hope that the word will embrace the 7 Noachide laws.
Shabbat shalom dear friends π May we see The Temple restored now π
