Shabbat Shalom dear friend π
May we have a peaceful and meaningful Shabbat π May we see The Temple restored now π
May the words of our beloved Torah guide us π
This week we are talking about one of the most complicated stories – a story about father and son; devotion, love and ability to submit to God and much more.
There is a lot to be said about our forefathers and foremothers – their stories read better and more complicated than any novel, their lives inspire and teach us lessons. Even watching myself to grow from their experience is something exceeding my own expectations.
Yet the story of Isaac accenting the mountain with his father Abraham is something that always makes me wonder – why didn’t Abraham plead withΒ God? Why? A few weeks ago i stumbled across a very fascinating explanation, which left me feeling a bit more in peace with that decision.
So trying to put that answer here, the search for an appropriate image started. and wow, this was a shock. although kind of expected to see Isaac being portrayed as a young child (although we know it’s not the case), watching the story is twisted by the other Abrahamic religions.
And now this is my lesson for today – please read the story. If you are not able to read Hebrew, find a proper translation. make sure it’s a kosher one. Just please read your Bible. Knowing the truth is the first step in understanding the reality.
Shabbat shalom dear friends π may we have a peaceful and meaningful Shabbat π
