Thoughts on Parshat Pinchas

For some time it was hard for me to share my thoughts and feelings about the parshat of the week. There was a need for personal growth and a need for self reflection. What are my beliefs? What is the core of it? What is the right way to defend it? What is the right way to express them?

Oh, make no mistake – my voice was loud and clear on other platforms, but Facebook presented me with a lot of restrictions, including but not limited to the exposure of my posts.

Yet this week is a story of Pinchas, and it’s time to confirm that we as proud Jews will stand up for our beliefs. We will not allow people being slaughtered by extremists. No matter how hard it can be, we have to face the reality and make very hard decisions, and well, sometimes we need to do it even when our leadership is hesitant to give straight orders or directions (allowing us to do things by ourselves).

On a strangely related matters, we read about the exact way to bring sacrifices. If only i would learn to use recipe for my cooking (at least Shabbat dinner), wouldn’t be in a position like now where the only thing that would work is chicken soup πŸ˜‚. Or maybe that’s the core of my dinner?

Additionally, we see true feminism where the daughters speak out about the inheritance. This is a challenge and it was made in a respectful way. If only we took notes of it, outcomes would be much more successful.

So much more to reflect. So much more growth. Yet the lesson is the knowledge of Pinchas’ reward of peace.

Shabbat shalom πŸ’– have a peaceful and meaningful Shabbat πŸ’–

May we see The Temple restored now πŸ’–

May the words of our beloved Torah guide us πŸ’–

There is no other land
